Successful collaboration continues, introducing Tennis range


adidas and Stella McCartney are continuing their incredibly successful collaboration by launching their third sport performance design collection. New to the line this season is Tennis footwear, apparel and accessories, which joins Running, Gym and Swim as the main categories in the range.

 

Adding tennis to the collection was an easy fit for Stella: "When I think of summer sports I immediately think about Tennis, as one of the highlight sports of the season. A Tennis line is something I always wanted to tackle and I am really excited to introduce this new category for the spring/summer 2006 collection." The range combines the best of performance and style, as she further notes: "Tennis is a very fashion-conscious sport and a fantastic platform for my collaboration with adidas. For this unique Tennis line we combined function and style with an element of cheeky femininity and I can't wait to see it on court."

 

Key styles of the Tennis collection include layered dresses, pleated skirts, cropped jackets and fitted polo shirts along with matching footwear and accessories. For Running, Gym and Swim main silhouettes are updated and evolved for a fresh new look. What remains is the contrasting fits, from oversize to slim, which were so successful in the first seasons. Many of the spring/summer 06 pieces feature a reflector heart in husky pink that symbolizes their potential to become a favorite sports product.

 

The color palette for spring/summer 2006 is more diverse and playful. Strong shades of reds (pop, calypso, husky pink), yellows (flash, electricity) and a new green (macaw) sit alongside toned-down pastels like orchid and the signature color of the collection, dusty rose, to provide unexpected color twists.

The range offers technologies like Clima 365®, X-Static® and Infinitex® along with breathable constructions, high-end cushioning technologies and antimicrobial treatments. adidas by Stella McCartney remains deeply rooted in sport. All the adidas expertise of incorporating technology aspects remains key in maintaining the functionality of the products.

 

The spring/summer 06 collection will hit retail in mid-February and will be available in high-end department stores, adidas Sport Performance stores and Stella McCartney stores around the world. Price points range from 15 Euros (Accessories) to 260 Euros (Apparel).
