Breaking the world record with adiZERO Adios and becoming the first man ever to go under 2 hours and 4 minutes in a marathon
Berlin, October 3rd, 2008 – adidas congratulates Haile Gebrselassie on breaking his own marathon world record in a time of 2hr 3min 59 sec at the 2008 Berlin Marathon, proving once again, Impossible is Nothing.
With this victory, the 35-year-old adidas athlete becomes the first man ever to go under 2hr 4min in a marathon. Equipped with adiZERO Adios footwear and adiZERO apparel, Gebrselassie left the last of his challengers behind with 6km remaining and collected his 24th world record or world best.
