Today the President of the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ Organizing Committee Franz Beckenbauer, Vice President of FIFA and Chairman of the FIFA Organizing Committee for the 2006 FIFA world Cup™ Lennart Johansson and Herbert Hainer, President and CEO of the adidas Group formally announced the 10 nominees for the adidas Golden Ball. The adidas Golden Ball for the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ is the official FIFA trophy for the “Best Player of the Tournament”. The ten nominated players were selected by the Technical Study Group of FIFA. Around the FIFA World Cup™ final accredited media representatives will vote to determine the winners of the adidas Golden, Silver and Bronze ball. The winners of this official FIFA trophy will be announced on July 10th.
