Having proved that sustainability can perfectly go along with soft, colourful and beautiful sportswear, the FW09 Rainbeau Mars Signature Line takes design and colours a step further by adding fresh new silhouettes. The latest up-to-the-minute designs and cuts makes the clothing a highly comfortable eye-catcher. The natural benefit of the fabric within the apparel products contributes significantly to an enjoyable training session for every woman who enjoys yoga. The outfits mirror the pleasurable yet balanced and conscious philosophy Rainbeau Mars embodies. The ambition to improve and the devotion to detail, while at the same time staying true to her conviction, perfectly reflects Rainbeau’s perception of the yoga lifestyle she lives. By keeping Rainbeau’s elegant signature as a key motif of the collection adidas sticks with the strategy of putting elegance and also deep personality in place.
“These clothes are soft, colourful and beautiful – a perfect way to reflect how we should feel about ourselves and the planet,” says Rainbeau Mars.
The range sees Indian design inspirations playing an important role especially in the prints. The colours this season are softer, with gentle greys, warm pinks, earthy browns and intense violet. The purple shade remains the key colour as a Rainbeau exclusive colour way in the collection.
The apparel in the collection is made from soft Tencel® fabric, a renewable raw material from eucalyptus wood harvested in Forest Stewardship Council-certified, responsibly managed forests. All prints are water-based and all trims are made from recycled materials. The apparel products also include a small amount of Elastane, which though not a sustainable fibre, is necessary to ensure great comfort, fit and performance, which are key to this performance yoga range. The Yatra Ballerina is made from natural canvas, recycled textile and recycled rubber. It uses colour in the same way as apparel – soft and subdued. The Ballerina comes with an elastic strap that was specially developed for yoga classes and provides comfort, support and grip without limiting the foot’s natural movement. The Yatra 75 follows the same principles on the leisure side and completes the footwear offer. The collection is also part of the adidas Better Place Program.
The new Rainbeau Mars Signature Line will be going into retail in June 2009 and will be available in the adidas Sport Performance concept stores. Price points range from EUR 45 to EUR 80 for apparel and EUR 60 to 75 for footwear.
Note: adidas offers products out of two different divisions: Sport Performance (leading technologies), Sport Style (Fashion Group and Originals). The Rainbeau Mars Signature Line is part of the adidas Sport Performance division.
