adidas announced today the launch of the T-MAC 6, a combination of NBA superstar Tracy McGrady’s on and off court creativity with adidas’ ForMotion™ technology (formally Ground Control System). The T-MAC 6 is set to launch globally at all adidas stores, major retailers and on-line at www.adidas.com on October 20, 2006.
“Inspiration for the T-MAC 6 comes from the way Tracy plays and his on court creativity. He has this on/off type of play; he goes from super-relaxed to just explosive in a drop of a hat,” stated Kyle Pulli, Basketball Category Designer. “This on-court creativity allows us, as a design team, the opportunity to create a shoe that mirrors him and the many amazing things he can do on the court.”
The defining feature of the new T-MAC 6 is the highly visable adidas ForMotion™ technology. adidas ForMotion™ gives you exceptional control during high speed on court play and adapts to that style and the court. ForMotion™ units along the lateral outsole stretch to give maximum contact with the floor, adding stability to every move made on the court. No matter how hard the cut or how quick the step, ForMotion™ gives the player an assist on sure footing. T-MAC 6 is a true combination of the adidas ForMotion™ technology with T-MAC’s creative style.
The T-MAC 6 will be featured in two initial colors: black/red (releasing October 20, 2006) and white/black/red (releasing November 24, 2006), with an additional color hitting the market in February 2007 around the NBA All-Star Game. The T-MAC 6 will carry a retail price of 125.00 (Dollars)/150.00 (Euro)/1380 (RMB).
Supporting the launch of the T-MAC 6 will be an exciting advertising campaign, including outdoor advertising, extensive internet activities, a comprehensive POS package and a variety of public relations events.
