Combination of Iconic and Innovative Styles underlines variety of FW06 collection

In Fall/Winter 2006 the Sport Heritage Division continues to bring authentic and unique adidas Originals products to the international lifestyle market. Various themes and collections represent the true fusion of sport authenticity and global street style. Supported by the marketing campaign that celebrates Originality, adidas highlights four key themes for the upcoming season, which represent how the Trefoil inspires individuality today and into the future.

 

Women’s Concept
This collection theme features an innovative footwear concept that was specifically designed to meet today’s female lifestyle consumer’s needs for more feminine styles. By re-interpreting iconic adidas Originals models of the past, a mix of dress shoes with athletic trainers has been achieved. With the adidas Pro Model, the Superstar, the Stan Smith and the Country 73, four classic styles have been selected in order to target the contemporary woman’s desire for womanly footwear models while still referring to adidas’ history. In the evolution of development steps four new models have been designed for the adidas sleek series with a sexy and feminine appearance in terms of shape, colours and materials.

 

The Premium Basics line for women that features apparel and accessories is the premium-quality, easy-to-wear basic for the female lifestyle consumer who looks for good products and refined details as well as for trends. The high-class quality of the fabrics, being beautifully soft bamboo fleece and soft-touch velour, as well as the details, style constructions and easy-to-wear fits and shapes give the packages a unique feeling.

 

Freizeit
The second theme, Freizeit, extends the brand’s relevance and design language from pure athletic styles into the casual market in both footwear and apparel. The line continues and evolves the story of Country Club by offering an extensive collection of products from high-end tailored looks through to classic Freizeit silhouettes. With an eye to leisure time, the collection represents preppie tailored sportswear that takes its inspiration from the world of sailing, golf and tennis in the best Heritage tradition.

 

Carlo Gruber
This season’s winter theme will be the Carlo Gruber capsule collection that mixes retro skiwear with contemporary silhouettes. The inspiration of the 2006 re-interpretation comes directly from the Carlo Gruber collection of the ‘70s which was a highly fashionable concept playing on and with very bright colours and featuring precious knitwear fabrics. In Fall/Winter 2006 the Carlo Gruber lifestyle range features footwear and apparel for men and women and is bright, colourful, playful and very sporty, with fashion elements and styles. The models will use the Carlo Gruber branding in different executions together with the Trefoil as sign off. For the fashion-led consumer, there are some outstanding retro ski styles available in the trend range of the Carlo Gruber by adidas collection.

 

City Pack
Paying tribute to some of the world’s major metropolitan areas, adidas releases the City Pack with unique apparel and footwear pieces. Playing with colours, graphics and the mix of executions the City Pack features cities like Paris, Buenos Aires, Moscow and Milan on track tops for the female fashion consumer.  Like the ones designed for men, they show the names and characteristic graphics of the cities. In order to bring a complete package to the market, apparel pieces are linked to footwear through colour and graphics.

 

Respect M.E.
The very successful Respect M.E. collection, developed in close collaboration with hip-hop queen Missy Elliott, continues with some hot day-and-night outfits for the young urban female consumer throughout its three lines. The key theme for the Bass Line is Collegiate Classics, whereas the Rhythm and Rhythm Exclusives lines feature the Lady Equestrian theme.

 

Ali by adidas
What started as a groundbreaking apparel, footwear and accessories line in Fall/Winter 2005 will go on in the upcoming season. The new Ali by adidas line has been created in cooperation with Muhammad Ali and will send out a powerful message to the urban male consumer.
