The adidas Sport Heritage Division presented its Fall/Winter 2006 Originals collection with a highly aspirational and energetic fashion show. Celebrating Originality and the first official Berlin Fashion Week, the global brand staged various exciting styles of the Originals range highlighting the fusion of sport authenticity with unique urban and metropolitan street fashion.
The Palais at Masurenallee provided an enormous and unforgettable setting for 1.500 international journalists, retailers and celebrities such as Berlin’s mayor Klaus Wowereit, the Sugababes and Kermit the frog attending the event. 30 models showcased 59 key looks of the upcoming season for men and women.
Following the welcome speech of Mr. Wowereit, the show opened with fresh and playful pieces of the Archive theme highlighting the colours green and red while linking back to the strong heritage of the Trefoil brand.
The Respect M.E. outfits, all developed in close collaboration with hip hop queen Missy Elliott, showed hot day-and-night styles featuring the Lady’s Equestrian look. The urban styles closed with highlight pieces of the capsule Ali by adidas line.
Following the Workwear styles, the show featured at the same time fashionable and casual outfits of the Freizeit theme, which continues the story of Country Club.
The closing look revealed glamorous white/silver and black/golden trend pieces of the Carlo Gruber de lux footwear and apparel collection.
The adidas Originals Fall/Winter 2006 show was by far the most highly anticipated event during the Berlin Fashion Week and underlines adidas’ believe in Berlin as an up and coming street fashion capital.
adidas continues to concentrate on Berlin for its activities in 2006, especially with this year's World Cup Finals.
