Today, the web-based consumer is offered a unique opportunity to become the last official partner of the adicolor concept launched earlier this year. This unique possibility takes the re-launch of the 1983 adidas Originals adicolor concept to the next level and underlines its core idea: to stimulate personal expression and creativity as participants may have their personalized sneaker produced in a limited quantity and distributed worldwide.
adicolor Online Galleries are opened on www.adidas.com/adicolor and enable users to submit personal customizations. Once a design is submitted to one of the galleries it is then eligible to be selected to go through to the final of an exciting online design competition specific to each gallery.
On May 3rd 2006 the galleries will be viewed by a select panel of adicolor's existing partners, including Cey Adams, Chris Law and Fafi. The jury will make their selections and reduce each gallery to a group of 10 finalists whose designs will be placed in a special online viewing area where the public can vote for their favourite. One design from each gallery, with the most votes, will win the prize specific to that gallery.
Gallery One: White Series Competition Everybody can submit a customized design for an adicolor White Series collection piece. Once completed, the participant is required to photograph his work and upload it to the White Series Gallery by May 1st 2006. The winning design will be produced in a limited production run of 50 products. Of the 50 produced, 25 will be allocated to the winner in a size run of their choice and 25 will go on sale to the public. The winner will receive a royalty for each product sold.
Gallery Two: The Other Competition Any kind of customization can be uploaded in this gallery. The adicolor panel’s favourite customizations within this section will be selected to go through to the final stage. The winning design, with the highest amount of votes, will win an extremely limited edition 60" Toy2R figure.
Gallery Three: Design Tool Competition Using the online Design Tool to develop skills, ideas and concepts, this gallery not only can be used for practice before a participant attempts his final work; it also really encourages use of the application. The most impressive and forward-thinking art piece will be selected by the panel and moved into the final stage of this competition. The winning design, with the highest amount of votes, will win a one-off customized adicolor A-15 Leather Jacket and presentation box.
