 Testino visualises

Herzogenaurach, June 7th, 2006

Testino visualises

Free to interpret the timelessness of the adidas Originals FW06 collection, Mario Testino continues with his identical flare a tonality that speaks Laid Back Self Confidence and Freedom of Style. The models were selected by Testino himself and represent adidas Originals’ target consumer. All are wearing highlights of the upcoming Fall/Winter season.

The Carlo Gruber theme takes inspiration from the Carlo Gruber collection of the 1970's; this 2006 re-interpretation of the series utilizes the bright colours and knitwear fabrics that have made this range unique. The lifestyle range features both footwear and apparel for both men and women and keeps true to the playful and sporty vibe, incorporating many fashion elements.

The Sleek series are revolutionary in adidas Originals history as for the first time adidas Originals iconic models are transformed into stylish refined dress shoes, to address the needs of our female consumers. The Sleek range introduces four new models that keep the evolution of development alive. The range is as the name implies: sexy, fashionable and functional.

Freizeit takes the design language employed in past adidas athletic products and presents it today as a range of casual footwear and apparel. Following the Country Club theme, Freizeit presents items with a high-end tailored look via classic silhouettes.

The worlds of sailing, golf and tennis all inspire this range, creating a smart selection of products that push the boundaries of authentic sportswear design. A range full of character, fit for the clubhouse, the catwalk and above all the street.

With three double-page and two single-page fashion shots plus three single-page product visuals, the adidas Originals FW06 advertising campaign aims to cut through to a broad lifestyle consumer base by presenting an adidas Originals’ attitude that inspires individuality far beyond today.

The shooting took place in Los Angeles/Malibu, on March 10, 2006.

The first Fall/Winter 2006 ads will roll out in July 2006 issues of key lifestyle and fashion publications such as Berliner, Milk Magazine and Huge as well as magazines such as Vogue, V and Arena.

QUOTES on the 2006 collaboration with Mario Testino

Uli Becker, Head of adidas Global Communications:

“Continuing our lifestyle and fashion approach in Sport Heritage we chose Mario Testino for our 2006 campaign. This campaign is meant to show life and lifestyle in a natural and unsophisticated way. Sport is still more and more inspiring fashion and we are the brand which can show it in the most authentic way.”

Stephen Gan, Founder of Visionaire and Creative Director and Editor-in-Chief of V Magazine:
"For the current campaign, I thought it would be great to team up with Mario Testino.  I have worked and collaborated with Mario for over 10 years. He always adds a very good energy to the pictures he shoots.  Mario always makes the models look super good, relaxed and real.  For me, Originals is an authentic lifestyle brand with a true fashion appeal. To project the fashion side of Originals made it easy by making the models relax and play in the clothes. It was a natural transition from the last campaign keeping the continuity of color but refreshing it enough by shooting in natural light and in a real setting.

The pictures tell a great story - sexy, happy, positive, and clean - should not we all be in this kind of a world!?”
